Giacomo holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and is a recognised industry leader throughout Australia in emission monitoring applications, having worked in the chemical processing and manufacturing business for 20 years. His leadership in the industry has shaped and improved measurement and monitoring principles and training standards.
His expertise in air emissions is illustrated by his standing on a number of Boards and Committees. Giacomo is a committee member for the Australian Standards Development Group for Ambient Air Measurement (EV-007) and Stationary Source Sampling Method Development (EV-007-01).
Giacomo is also a member of the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) Air Working Group Advisory Committee.
He is a Certified Lead Laboratory Auditor, specialist NATA assessor for chemical laboratory practices and air emissions applications and has contributed to the Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation’s Industry Self-Monitoring Committee (CEMS) which developed the WA CEMS Code.
Giacomo’s credits also include; completion of formal training by USEPA Air Emission Measurement method authors in North Carolina (USA); membership of the Australian Institute of Energy (MAIE); membership of The Royal Australian Chemical Institute (MRACI) and Chartered Chemist (C.Chem).
Giacomo is also the President of the Clean Air Society of Australia & New Zealand (WA Branch).
Giacomo also has over 8 years experience in water analysis and contaminated sites, including the evaluation of contaminants at operating and remote sites, ground water sampling analysis, surface and water analysis and soil testing.
Giacomo is also experienced in GIS mapping of contaminates and the investigation, removal and remediation processes of underground storage tanks.
