Mario holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and an MBA and is a Chartered Accountant.

He has over 20 years of finance, commercial and strategy experience having held senior executive positions with some of Australia’s leading companies.

He was formerly Chief Financial Officer of Peet Limited where he was responsible for the overall financial strategy, funding, accounting, taxation and financial reporting of the group.

Prior to joining Peet Limited, he held a number of senior roles at Woodside Petroleum, including General Manager - Finance on the North West Shelf Venture and Corporate Planning Manager.  During this time he established himself as a corporate leader with a reputation for strategic thinking and producing outstanding results. 

Before joining Woodside Petroleum, Mario consulted to the resources giant as part of his tenure with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting).  He also held the Melbourne-based position of Strategy Manager with the consultancy.

From the late-1980s to the mid-1990s, he held senior positions with Grant Thornton (formerly Hendry, Rae and Court) and Horwath Perth Chartered Accountants.

Mario has a long history of outstanding achievement, having been awarded the Western Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Medal for best graduating student while completing his Master of Business Administration.
